At times you would like to skip the excessively detailed personal anecdotes written in a rather mundane fashion. That said, the book contains many dilemmas of a cricket captain and how he handles them. The thing about cricket is that the role of captain is actually very important unlike many other sports where the captain is just a titular role. So there are some leadership insights to be gained from an articulate and experienced captain.
If the reader is willing to put the mental effort to take those cricketing experiences and generalize them to his personal/professional life - then reading this book makes sense.
Satya Nadella is someone who credits his time playing cricket for shaping him as a leader that he currently is.
